AICRI presents the first “Joint European Forum on Cancer”

The Joint Euro-American Forum on Cancer was co-hosted by the All-Island Cancer Research Institute (AICRI) and Ireland's Department of Health, in partnership with major cancer organisations such as the European Cancer Organisation, the American Society for Clinical Oncology, the European School of Oncology, and the US National Cancer Institute. The event took place at Farmleigh House in Dublin and was streamed worldwide to tackle the growing global cancer crisis. This forum occurred during the 25th Anniversary of the Ireland - Northern Ireland - US National Cancer Institute Cancer Consortium and aligned with the 20th Anniversary of Ireland's Smoking Ban. This landmark occasion brought together globally recognised clinical and academic leaders and key relevant policy makers, political figures, and patient advocates. Together, they shaped a transatlantic strategy for combating cancer and offered a set of recommendations to address the impending cancer challenge that is rapidly approaching. The forum also celebrated the launch of the European Cancer Pulse Ireland, a project by the European Cancer Organisation aimed at identifying and addressing cancer disparities across Europe. Importantly it introduced "Cancer Knows No Borders – an all-island blueprint for cancer research and care," supported by the Keough-Naughton Institute for Irish Studies, University of Notre Dame and the Royal Irish Academy Analysing and Researching Ireland North and South.
