What is the National Cancer Mission Hub?
The EU Mission on Cancer aims to improve the lives of more than 3 million people affected by cancer across Europe by 2030. It works through better prevention, diagnosis, treatment and quality of life. To deliver this in each country, the Mission is supporting the creation of National Cancer Mission Hubs.
Each Hub brings together patients and advocates, researchers, clinicians, policymakers, industry and the wider public. Together they connect national cancer efforts with the European Mission and share what works. They also make sure the people most affected by cancer help shape what happens next.
The National Cancer Mission Hub Ireland is Ireland’s entry into this European network. It is being co-developed by the National Cancer Control Programme (NCCP) and AICRI at UCD.
What is ECHoS?
ECHoS is the EU-funded project that supports countries across Europe to set up and run their National Cancer Mission Hubs, and connects them into a single network. AICRI/UCD is an ECHoS partner. We lead its work on outreach and events, and co-lead its work on stakeholder and citizen engagement.
